MADS is the acronym of Models and Applications of Distributed Systems Group, a research group inside the Department of Computer Science of theUniversity of A Coruña (UDC), Spain. The members of MADS develop their teaching and research activities on High Availability Distributed Systems, Digital Home and Networked Media, Multimedia content for the Digital Home, Services over IPTV networks and DTT (transmission and software systems in user terminals and at the home) and Applications for Interactive Digital TV Systems.
The specific research lines at MADS are:
Design of the High Availability Distributed Systems
Distribution of HD multimedia content for the digital home.
Video over Demand (VoD)
Massive synthesis of interactive TV channels
Platforms for Digital Television Services
Distribution of content on the transport network (IPTV, DVB-T, DVB-C)
Services over IPTV Networks
Design, construction, validation and verification of distributed systems.
Advanced Risk Management Information System: Tracking Insurances, Claims and Exposures
MADS has extensive experience in partnerships with the private sector and government. He has developed numerous R&D projects in collaboration with major companies because the results of his research lines are of great interest for them.
